About Art, and books
I’ve always felt impermeable to art.
Paintings leave me mostly cold. Sculptures too. Music can move me a little, but rarely enough to be carried away.
Then I read Normal People by Sally Rooney. One line hit me: reading can be a way to be touched by great art. Wait… wow. Books are art.
For years I stood in galleries feeling dumb, thinking I just didn’t get art.
Now I realise it's perfectly fine to choose libraries over museums. And for the first time, I feel at home with how I experience art.
